On September 5, the 5G Safety project managing partner Iskratel held the kick-off meeting, gathering the consortium partners and the supporters of the project. The 5G Safety project will include research and innovation, which will give rise to a new generation of 5G-ready products and services, tailored to the needs of the PPDR sector. The project is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the Regional Development Fund with a grant amount of almost €2 million by virtue of its sustainable nature and its economic, social, and environmental impact.

The consortium partners Iskratel, d.o.o., Kranj, Telekom Slovenije, d.d., the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, and OSI d.o.o. presented their competencies as well as the scope and the action plan of the project.  We discussed our policies concerning reporting, the legal and financial aspect, risk management, and the responsibilities of individual consortium bodies.

We fully appreciate that for the project to be successful, its tasks must be carried out by competent participants in the spirit of teamwork—which will be facilitated by the collaborative environment presented. The consortium partners sincerely thank the supporters of the project for their willingness to participate in the Expert Council. It will allow us to customize the content of the project, making it end-user–oriented. People and personal contact are at the heart of this project offering excellent results and effects. The participants of the kick-off meeting (pictured) were unanimous in their conviction that Slovenia is a land of safety and great opportunities.
